Summer 2010

We had a wonderful vacation trip in Ocean City. All of us missed having Jo there full time but maybe next time it will work out better. Miniature golf, pool, beach (day and night) laser tag, Frontier Town, THE BOARDWALK, and Assateague Island boat trip filled our days. The traditions of Hacienda, Lido's, the Crabcake Factory, Tequila Mockingbird, Dumsers, Dough Roller and Rita's were all honored. The older the kids get, the better they get along. Lots of fun and happy times!

More pictures to follow when I see what the others snapped.

Meal Prep

Mark and Gail work to get our Ham dinner together. We missed you, Jo.

The balcony was a popular play site - bubbles, seashells, horses and aliens ruled.

Mark's home-made mashed potatoes were a hit (even though we didn't have a beater or a masher)

Mealtimes were fun

Horsie time!

If you are able to zoom in on Haylie's face, you will see her biggest, happiest smile.

The Wild Ponies!!!

Our cruise to Assateague Island included a narration by a marine biologist who had small sea creatures on board for all to touch (if we dared). He taught us a lot and helped us to spot ponies along the way. Part of the cruise included disembarking on the island and trying to scoop up marine life ourselves. When the ship's horn sounded we all headed back on board. Haylie and Ian were wonderful sailors.

Looking for sea animals

The Fyfe's and grandma scooping through the bay for marine life. Nothing to take home but we had a terrific time trying. Nice warm/cool water and a pleasant day. An activity worth repeating.

The view from our balcony . . . Have you ever seen so many blues?

Haylie just couldn't resist posing with the mermaid (a favorite creature of hers)

Earlier in the day, Aunt Jo and Uncle Mark took the three older kids to the Kite Loft and each was treated to a toy (Ian got one, too). Here, Haylie shows off the knight's horse that she chose.

Two cuties playing in Ian's big closet

At this point, Ian's wardrobe folds into dresser drawers so his closet doubles as a private playroom. He loves having Haylie join him.

Haylie uses the "follow the red lit key" function of the piano with amazing results

Can't you just hear the sweet strains of "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star"?

A new addition at grandma's house is this electric piano which gave great grandma many hours of pleasure years ago. Here, Ian shows off his talent. Notice the concentration!

A Fun Day

On a recent babysitting day at Patey North, Hannah acted as navigator and got us to the bowling lane without a hitch. Once there, she showed additional skill in the sport. We had a great time and laughed alot.

Back in the alley again

Grandma returned to the lanes after a hiatus of some 10 or 12 years. Thanks kids for being easy on me!

Joshua the Bowler

Joshua wasn't content with the kiddie roll, and he was quick to learn how to handle and release the ball.
