Joshua's Birthday Bash

This was the cutest cake! Done in the "Backyardigan" theme (Joshua's choice), it was two dozen cupcakes iced together. What a cinch to break apart and serve. The little ones enjoyed sticking their green tongues out.

Joshua loved the real digital camera from his Mom and Dad. He took about 12 pictures of his own nose at the beginning!

Oooh, a "Sit and Dig" tractor!

This was one of those neat to have, hard to assemble toys that parents would never buy (but grandma and grandpa did!). How lucky that uncle Darrell was on the scene to lend his expertise to the task. No problem, Joshua, enjoy!

David has discovered that he and Ian share a common interest in war-game magazines. Interesting, huh?

My favorite!

Gail and Haylie ventured out for some fresh air and a walk to the closeby tot lot this morning. Grandma enjoyed the babysitting time and, of course, rushed to the camera. Ian was having a great time in his musical swing, and I was able to capture this close-up. He is changing each day.

The homecoming

Posted by Picasa

The night before the birth, Haylie played Hide and Seek while wearing Daddy's boots!

Haylie was a bit tentative at first but really wanted to give Ian his little toy monkey present.

Big sister Haylie soothes Ian. Please notice the big girl high heels which were a present upon her new status!

Soon!

Haylie waits patiently near the cradle for the arrival of her baby brother. This cradle was made by great-grandpa McGeough and it has rocked over 30 babies since it was made from old church pews in 1968. It was used for Haylie and her mother, uncle Mark and his daughter Hannah, and lots of friends and neighbors.
